After graduating from college with a Bachelors in Computer Information & System Sciences, Akua decided to revisit her dreams of becoming a Makeup Artist. As a graduate of Bennett Career Institute in D.C. with a concentration in Makeup Artistry, she has since worked on set for various projects including Real Housewives of Potomac, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop NY, Black Opal Cosmetics, Essence Magazine, Redskins.comTV, the Bad Boy Reunion Concert, served as Key Makeup Artist for the Off Broadway production, Mighty Real: A Fabulous Sylvester Musical, and so much more.
In 2017, Akua decided to dive into the world of education and has been enjoying helping other Artists elevate their artistry and become confident. The following year she was invited to return to Bennett Career Institute and now serves at the Makeup 101 instructor. Talk about a full circle moment!
Akua's ultimate goal with her brand is to be in high demand for different creative projects nationally and internationally. In the meantime, she enjoys teaching classes, networking with fellow artists and industry professionals, and transforming women and making them feel beautiful. As an artist, Akua believes that you should never stop learning and continues to be a student to her craft.
