Crystal Schilthuis is a dedicated TESOL and composition teacher specializing in developmental and ELL writing and English for Academic Purposes. Crystal have taught diverse student populations in the U.S. and overseas in both secondary school and higher education settings. She also have a strong background in individual tutoring within writing center contexts. At Reading Area Community College, she helped pilot and administrate a campus learning center devoted to the needs of multilingual students and taught multiple levels of ESL/EAP writing and speaking/listening courses. RACC's EAP Program has been nationally recognized as a finalist for the Examples of Excelencia Award by the Excelencia in Education organization. Her current work activities include full-time teaching, mentoring and providing professional development for adjuncts in the EAP program, student advising, serving the Foundational Studies division, serving as chair of RACC's Faculty Senate and our General Education Committee.
