Dr, Pamela Seda earned a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia. She has held various positions in mathematics education including high school mathematics teacher, math instructional coach, college math instructor, and K-12 district math supervisor. Dr. Seda is passionate about changing how students experience mathematics, especially those from marginalized groups, and advocates for mathematics instruction that develops all students as mathematical thinkers and problem-solvers.

Dr. Seda is co-author of the book, Choosing to See: A Framework for Equity in the Mathematics Classroom. In this book, she weaves together educational research, personal and professional stories, and practical examples of how to implement the ICUCARE equity framework that came out of her dissertation research. Math Curriculum Leader
Dr. Seda first began working on mathematics curriculum as an instructional coach in 2009 and has been involved with curriculum development at both the district and state levels ever since. She served on the 2020 Georgia Mathematics Standards Review Committee and on the 2020-2022 Georgia Mathematics Advisory Council.
Math Equity Leader
In addition to her extensive experience with mathematics curriculum, Dr. Seda has more than 20 years of experience with equitable mathematics instruction. In addition to speaking about math equity at state and national conferences, Dr. Seda serves on the board of the Benjamin Banneker Association, an affiliate of NCTM devoted to leveling the playing field for mathematics learning of the highest quality for African-American students. She also serves as a Professional Learning Director of NCSM, a national organization devoted to equity, access, and bold leadership in mathematics education.
