After the Storm with Unique Matthews

With the pandemic and all the things everyone's been going through these last years, it’s often hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And some of us have even more experience with hardship and trauma, but is it an excuse not to live a full life?

Tune in as certified plant-based chef, fashion designer, cannabis specialist, travel enthusiast, and jane-of-all-trades, Unique Matthews, joins Triggered AF to talk self-care, loving your inner child, and setting up your life to make sure you can show up as your highest self. Because there's no better opportunity to rebuild and create what you love than after a storm.

KEY POINTS:

  • Reframing trauma into a fabulous life
  • How to stay present and grateful when life gets hard
  • Are you honoring yourself?
  • Why being selfish is a good thing
  • Ask yourself: What do I need?
  • Giving your inner child the experiences they never had

QUOTABLES:

“Brushing my hair so it can shed, doing my nails, and cutting my cuticles - I want to scrub my body and remove all things negative. Because if I feel like I'm carrying something negative, then I'm gonna attract it. I want it all gone.”

“After a storm, after everything is destroyed and messed up, it's literally the perfect opportunity to rebuild and to create things how you want them to be.”

These ladies talk about real, relatable content. Specifically the Villainous Victims episode. And it’s true…we are all villains in someone else’s story, which can be tough to admit. But necessary to understand.

I loved Dani views of this topic because I grew up in church also , but as an adult I figured out for myself that we truly should have a relationship with God and I listen to Mike Todd a preacher from Tulsa and he also states same thing. Belief and relationship with God doesn’t require rituals or any of that. I don’t let anything that I’ve seen in the church sway me from my belief in God. I believe in God not man or a religion. God does want us to fellowship with others but God is everywhere! I turn on my worship music all the time at home, in the car etc. it doesn’t require us to be in church because we can have church anywhere

I think 🤔 we need to listen to what these women have to say. I was very impressed with the episodes and hope to hear many more.
