Expect chills when listening to this episode with sociologist, author, strategist, and changemaker, Dr. Janice Johnson Dias. Speaking about intentional parenting in a world not built intentionally for your child, Dr. Janice discusses the detriment of colorblind parenting and how to create an environment for children to thrive using adversity as a tool. Tune in as she shares how majority culture has framed parenting and explains why if you want a great kid, you’re going to have to be a great human first.
KEY POINTS:
QUOTABLES:
“We must recognize that parenting is a reflection of ourselves and that we must first attend to things about ourselves if we are going to be modestly successful in parenting. Parenting is about the child, yes, but it's far more about us.”

Just wow! I’ve listened to every episode and each one has helped me in some way. I’m really clear on what it is I want and what it is I need now.
This show is such a great listen for young and mature women to let you know you 1) no you’re not crazy 2) you’re no alone 3) your feelings matter. Thank you Alechia & Dani for your real and raw conversations. This should be a TV show!
I loved Dani views of this topic because I grew up in church also , but as an adult I figured out for myself that we truly should have a relationship with God and I listen to Mike Todd a preacher from Tulsa and he also states same thing. Belief and relationship with God doesn’t require rituals or any of that. I don’t let anything that I’ve seen in the church sway me from my belief in God. I believe in God not man or a religion. God does want us to fellowship with others but God is everywhere! I turn on my worship music all the time at home, in the car etc. it doesn’t require us to be in church because we can have church anywhere
I absolutely love this show. The topics are very thought provoking and inspiring. After each episode I walked away with a deep question to self-examine and make an effort to do the work. Keep shining ladies. I am so proud 😌👑❤️
