She is a staff writer at Forbes Advisor, where she covers consumer finance. She was previously the Two Cents personal finance writer at Lifehacker. As a senior writer and on-air analyst at The Penny Hoarder, she covered the grocery and retail industries, consumer affairs, and features, and co-wrote The American Nightmare, a four-part series on the lingering effects of the foreclosure crisis of 2007. In 2018, Lisa launched a weekly advice column that was syndicated by the Tampa Bay Times.
She is a recipient of the 2019 Creative Pinellas Emerging Artist grant for literature.
Lisa also cohosts Pop Fashion, a top-rated weekly podcast about the business of fashion and culture. A former full-time freelance writer and vintage shop owner, she is well versed in the gig economy and the small-business landscape. Lisa is a graduate of the University of Maryland and Georgetown University. Her work has appeared in Retail Dive, Glossy, The Washington Post, Family Circle, CityLab, and the Washington City Paper, among others.
