In today’s episode, creative writer-poet ShaRae joins Kae to discuss a topic that most women will likely relate to at some point in time of their lives: Motherhood.
Motherhood is a mixture of exhausting and inspiring states in a woman’s life. ShaRae shares her personal experiences, tough moments and valuable insights gained in her journey as a mom. As she’s blessed to have a black father with a provider mindset who leads the household, she has been a stay-at-home mom for the past two plus years while simultaneously working on her own creative ventures.
While it is true that being a mom is one of the most fulfilling things you can do in your life, ShaRae discloses that she has gone through many mental and emotional struggles as she was diagnosed with postpartum anxiety. She also had to deal with grief and loss of leaving the past version of herself and ‘losing her identity’ as a strong independent woman. Discover the best parts, challenges, and some experiences to expect on the motherhood journey with these ladies in their conversation. Don’t miss out on this episode and tune in with ShaRae and Kae!

GEMS DROPPED
“There was a time when I didn't want children at all. I didn't want a family. And then I had an epiphany as I got older and matured. I realized I was actually saying that from a hurt place, and speaking from childhood trauma. And once I started to heal and grow, I realized that not only did I want a family, I had the power to do it my way.” – ShaRae
“I feel so empowered being a mom. As a mother, this is the first time in my life where I do feel understood, appreciated, seen, [and] heard. As a woman, I'm still looking for a lot of those things, but as a mother – I know my daughter knows that she has a good mom.” – ShaRae
